Job Description:
The National Contracts Manager is responsible for the timely negotiation and ongoing administration of the health plan’s contracts with ancillary, hospital and supplemental benefit providers. The National Contracts Manager will evaluate, monitor and assure network adequacy, contracts’ performance and compliance.
Responsibilities Include:
- Negotiates, administers, extends, terminates, and renegotiates contracts.
- Formulates and coordinates procurement proposals.
- Evaluates and monitors contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
- Approves or rejects requests for deviations from contract specifications and delivery schedules.
- Arbitrates claims or complaints occurring in performance of contracts.
- Analyzes price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonableness of prices.
- Serves as liaison to ensure fulfillment of obligations by contractors.
Education and Experience:
Supervises staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities that may include but are not limited to: interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and four or more years previous managed care contracting experience.
- Must have previous contracting experience.
