Anaheim Seniors Invited to Kick off Festivities

ANAHEIM, Calif. – Anaheim seniors are encouraged to get a healthy start in 2009 with free health screenings at the grand opening of the CareMore Care Center. Area residents are invited to join city officials during the grand opening celebration of the new senior wellness center in Anaheim, January 23 at 1:30 p.m.

“While focusing on preventive health services, the Care Center is designed to be a social environment where the senior community can meet and feel comfortable, something that has not previously been provided in doctors’ offices,” says Leeba Lessin, president of CareMore.

The new center, located at 1182 N. Euclid St., Anaheim, will also feature free health screenings as part of the grand opening celebration. An open house and tours of the new center will also be conducted. Refreshments will also be served.

The Anaheim Care Center will offer services such as podiatry, comprehensive medical evaluations, diabetic management, fall prevention program, and a high blood pressure clinic. The services offered will provide greater access to key preventive health care, particularly to those seniors who are at risk of chronic conditions such as diabetes.

The center was developed for CareMore members, but all seniors in the community are welcome to use the facility and services for social and health care screenings.
