Job Description:
The Director of Clinical Analysis is responsible for providing the leadership, process, and direction of clinical analytics with the within the Actuarial & Healthcare Economics department. The Director of Clinical Analytics will report to the VP of Actuarial and Healthcare Economics and is responsible for all clinical analytics activities, including ad hoc and standard reporting (HEDIS, bed days, readmissions, etc.).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Leading the development of Clinical Analytics and Reporting to support the CareMore Clinical Leadership Team in evaluating the success of clinical programs. Must be a collaborative effort with Chief Medical Officer to drive better understanding of clinical performance to drive improvement.
- Maintenance/automation of internal report sets including bed day reporting, readmission reporting, and other clinical metrics/measures. This includes internal monitoring of HEDIS and Star measures.
- Leadership of predictive modeling efforts to best identify members requiring intervention.
- Lead development of CMS required annual reporting.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities that may include but are not limited to: interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
1. B.A./B.S. required, Master’s degree preferred
2. Clinical expertise/knowledge is required. Preferably experience with clinical quality and performance evaluation, evaluation of clinical management program effectiveness, and clinical report development/automation.
3. Excellent communication skills are a must given the degree of interaction with clinical leadership team.
4. Preferably experience/background in health care field either on provider side or plan side; strong understanding of the Medicare business is a plus.
5. Strong technical skills/knowledge are a plus (SQL, Excel, etc.)
6. Self-motivated, creative, and the ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
