This program is currently only offered in CareMores Maricopa and Santa Clara markets for CareMore members who are enrolled into our CareMore Value Plus or StartSmart plans.
For 2012, the Nifty After Fifty has developed an exciting new program, Nifty After Fifty Everywhere (NaFE)
The goal of this program is to promote exercise and fitness through a variety of options. These options are in addition to the traditional Nifty After Fifty exercise programs, members in these plans will have access to the Nifty After Fifty Everywhere contracted health clubs in the community or home based routines. The NaFE program will include "Everywhere Exercise Programs" for beginners, intermediate and advanced exercises, which are specially designed for seniors. These exercise programs can be done at home, in the office, in a community center- they can be done "Everywhere". The feature of this benefit is a fitness evaluation performed by an exercise coach, who with the member will determine the most appropriate fitness option.
The first appointment:
The member will receive a detailed explanation of the program and receive a fitness evaluation. During the evaluation, the coach will review the member's medical history, learn about fitness goals, assess the areas that need conditioning and customize a fitness routine based on the member's current strength level. The evaluation also includes:
- balance testing
- aerobic exercise capacity
- resting metabolic rate
- Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement
The member will also be provided a packet of introductory Nifty After Fifty Everywhere information that includes a map, phone number of the location and directions on scheduling their appointments. The member will also receive a Home Workout booklet customized for their needs.
