OVER THE COUNTER BENEFIT PROGRAM

 

How will the benefit be administered?

Members may receive their products through special participating pharmacies. Through this network of pharmacies, members may access over-the-counter products in much the same way as they have their prescription drugs filled. Members simply need to present their CareMore member ID card at the pharmacy and bring this brochure with them, in case their pharmacist has any questions. All products may be purchased only for the use of the member. It is prohibited to purchase products for family members and/or friends.

 

If a member does not use the entire coverage amount in a given month, will the balance roll over like a health savings account?

No. Any balance on the coverage amount that is not used will be lost at the beginning of the following month.

 

Will the products remain consistent from pharmacy to pharmacy?

The name of each product may change from pharmacy to pharmacy, depending on the different labels for each product that are available. However the type, price, and volume of each of these products will remain consistent.

 

If a member wishes to purchase an over-the-counter product but has less than the required balance in his/her monthly coverage to pay for the product, will the pharmacy deny the order?

No. The member may still purchase the requested over-the-counter product, but will be responsible for all costs above and beyond the monthly coverage amount at the CareMore contracted rate.
