Sachin (pronounced SUCH-in) H. Jain, MD, MBA is president and chief executive officer of CareMore Health and Aspire Healthcare, innovative integrated health care delivery companies with $1.6B+ revenue & over 180,000 patients in 32 states. He is also adjunct professor of medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine and a contributor at Forbes. Dr. Jain is co-founder and co-editor-in-chief of Healthcare: The Journal of Delivery Science & Innovation.
Prior to joining CareMore, Dr. Jain was Chief Medical Information & Innovation Officer at Merck & Co. He also served as an attending physician at the Boston VA-Boston Medical Center and a member of faculties at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School. From 2009-2011, Dr. Jain worked in the Obama Administration, where he was senior advisor to Donald Berwick when he led the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Dr. Jain was the first deputy director for policy and programs at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). He also served as special assistant to David Blumenthal when he was the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
Dr. Jain graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with a BA in government and continued on to earn his MD from Harvard Medical School and MBA from Harvard Business School. He trained in medicine at the Brigham and Women's Medicine, earned his board certification, and continues to practice medicine at CareMore. He is is an elected member of the National Academy of Social Insurance (NASI); and an invited Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). He has published over 150 articles in journals such as the New England Journal, JAMA, Health Affairs, and was an editor of the book, The Soul of a Doctor (Algonquin Press).
Dr. Jain is a native of New Jersey, but presently resides in Los Angeles, California.
Karen Schulte leads physician engagement strategies and delivery operations that support the national expansion of the CareMore Health brand. She develops and implements workforce plans for consistent delivery of operational performances. Ms. Schulte oversees business operations across all CareMore Health markets to accommodate the rapid growth and objectives of the organization.
Ms. Schulte served as corporate vice president and general manager of SCAN Health Plan for Northern California prior to coming to CareMore Health. She also acted as vice president of network development at Buenaventura Medical Group in Ventura, Calif., and was vice president of managed care for SeaView IPA in Oxnard, Calif. Ms. Schulte received her Master of Health Administration from the University of Southern California and her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Michael Plumb has 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He has served in an executive leadership role at CareMore Health since 2010 when he joined the organization as Chief Financial Officer. As the company’s Chief Clinical Operations Officer, Mr. Plumb is accountable for the operational aspects of CareMore’s care delivery model, including operations for CareMore Care Centers, specialty care, care delivery technology, coding, and practice management.
Before joining CareMore Health, Mr. Plumb held various executive and consulting positions within the healthcare industry, including time at United Healthcare, PacifiCare and Kaiser Health Plan. He holds a degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego and a Master’s in Business Administration from The Haas School of Business in Berkeley, California.
Dr. Vivek Garg is CareMore Health's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and leads the organization's care delivery, clinical strategy, and clinical innovation. As CMO, Dr. Garg will drive the continued evolution of the CareMore Health model to serve complex, high-cost, and high-need patients. He was previously CareMore’s Chief Product Officer where he led growth strategy, product development, implementation and learning & development nationally at CareMore. He is dedicated to the goal of humanizing healthcare and achieving the triple aim, through patient-centered care delivery redesign. He also serves as an advisor to early-stage healthcare start-ups.
Before joining CareMore Health, Dr. Garg was Director of Medical Operations & Medical Director at Oscar Insurance - a high-growth, consumer-focused and technology-enabled healthcare company focused on redesigning the health insurance and care delivery experience. He was also Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Prior to Oscar, Dr. Garg was Medical Director at One Medical Group, a nationally recognized, rapidly growing primary care system, where he led initiatives in quality, population health, and telemedicine. His prior work experience spans the public, private, and non-profit sectors, including positions with McKinsey & Company and the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, a leading Congressional advisory body on payment innovation in Medicare.
He trained in internal medicine at Brigham & Women's Hospital, where he practiced primary care at Faulkner Hospital and was a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School. He received his MD and MBA from Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School, respectively, and graduated summa cum laude from Yale University.
Vinay Kulkarni is Head of Information Technology for CareMore Health. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of information technology, data, analytics and IT support for clinical care center across CareMore Health.
Vinay has over 20 years of experience in IT. Prior to joining CareMore Health, Vinay was Staff Vice President of Digital Technologies at Anthem, where he was responsible for developing and maintaining application systems that supported Anthem's Sales systems. Prior to that, he held various roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of Application Development, Program Management, Portfolio Management, Database Modeling, Architecture and Process Reengineering in Healthcare, finance and manufacturing industries.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Karnatak University, India.
