Health provider implements model in DC
When it comes to your health, it’s good to have primary care centers to choose from and even better if you find one that sees you not only as a patient, but also as an individual human being who is part of a larger community. This is the model of CareMore, a clinic and healthcare provider operating in Washington DC since August of last year. It wants the Latino community to learn about it and take advantage of its services. CareMore is not health insurance, it is a primary care provider focusing on populations over 65, low-income people, and those with mental illnesses. Patients can come in seeking relief and while specialists and therapists treat their conditions, a group of social workers searches for solutions to issues like lack of employment, housing, and food as well as domestic abuse, which are often the causes of physical and psychological strife.
